Ge-Suk Yeo
- soprano, voice
Ge-Suk Yeo is a singer. As a lyric-dramatic soprano she is a novelty in the experimental and avant-garde music scene.
Her versatile voice moves somewhere in between dadaistic gibberish and operatic Belcanto. In her programs she joins
musicians from various backgrounds. This produces a crackling tension and creates a new sound dimension.
Her latest projects are 'Sound Skipping - Sori Numgi' with the Korean musicians Je-Chun Park (percussion) and Miyeon (piano) –
just released on CD at Sang-Joong-Ha MUSIC, Seoul (Sang-Joong-Ha 004) and the Video-Sound Installation 'The Talking Wall',
momentarily to presented at the Maronnier Art Center in Seoul, Korea as well as at the Contemporary Art Center CAC, Vilnius, Lithuania.
Further music projects are 'Gong-Gan Sori' with the cellist Wittwulf O Malik from Hamburg and the 'Ensemble Syzygy'
with musicians from different continents. With the latter she toured in summer 2003 through Korea: Part of the team were
Blaise Siwula (saxophone, clarinet, reeds) from New York, Vattel Cherry (double bass) from Baltimore and Hans Schüttler
(piano, toys, electronics) from Hamburg.
Ge-Suk Yeo's 'sounding pictures' and 'sounding calligraphies' recently had been exhibited at the 'Seoho Museum of Art' in NamYang and in the
'Gallery Seoho' in Seoul, Korea. Transformed into music you can listen to these paintings in her concerts or on her CDs.
